Our Treats

Treats can be used in all sorts of ways. Whether it is for everyday training and essential mental stimulation that all of our pets need, a tasty morsel before you have to go out or to hide that pesky medication that your fur baby can smell a mile off, we have something for every occasion.

All of our treats are made from completely natural, healthy ingredients with no added preservatives, colours of flavours. They are all handmade to order so are fresh for your pet when you receive them. This means that they may all differ in size and shape and even though they may not look interesting to us, they are still super tasty and completely safe for your pets. The recipes created for SCB treats have all been carefully considered to try and suit the needs of as many different tastes and requirements as possible. We did not want to leave anyone out, and I am always thinking up more recipes for all of our pets.

All of our dog treats come in a cookie size (pictured shape) for general snacks and a training treat size (mini squares) for quick and easy rewards during your positive reinforcement training.

Even though all of our treats are 100% natural, we still recommend, as with all treats, to only feed occasionally and continually monitor your pets weight.  

Please note: all of our dog treats are also safe for rats.

Ingredients

All of our treats have been specially created using only human grade, natural ingredients with no hidden artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. Our ingredients are of the highest quality and locally sourced in Yorkshire wherever possible. Our peanut butter is completely palm oil and Xylitol free and we only use wild, line-caught fish. As a vegetarian myself, I will only use high welfare produce.  

We also have a range of vegan treats for any pooches that cannot have meat and fish products.  

All of our recipes have been developed with the knowledge of what is safe and what is not safe for all of our pets. It is important when making treats yourself that you have a full understanding of what your pets can eat.

Toxic to dogs includes onions, garlic, chocolate, avocado, alcohol, xylitol, macadamia nuts, grapes and raisins. 

Toxic to cats includes onions, milk, alcohol, chocolate and lilies. 

Toxic to rabbits and guinea pigs includes chocolate, onions, garlic, mushrooms, avocados, potatoes and iceberg lettuce.

There are a variety of things that small animals should not eat depending on what pet you have. However, citrus fruits, raw beans, potatoes, onions, garlic and human snacks among others are bad for all small animals. Chinchillas, in particular, are very sensitive and should not eat any fruit, veg, nuts or seeds. 

If your pet consumes any of these items, veterinary advise should be sought immediately.     

Allergies

Food allergies are an increasing problem with our pets. Many dogs and cats are developing wheat, grain and gluten allergies, making food a difficult part of their lives. This is why all of our treats have been developed using solely wheat free products. Please note that I cannot guarantee 100% wheat free as the products themselves disclose the possibility of cross-contamination during processing, however, they are all naturally wheat free products.

It is important to note that wheat intolerance and gluten intolerance are two separate things and this should be taken into account if you have a gluten intolerant pet. If you simply wish your pet to have a wheat free diet, our treats are perfect for you. However, if you have a coeliac dog or cat, keep an eye out for our gluten free treats coming soon that are to be just as tasty. 

Packaging

The environment is extremely important to us here at SCB. This is why all of our treat bags are completely recyclable and reusable. They also do not contain any harmful plastics so are helping to keep our oceans cleaner and safer. We also only send our products out in fully recyclable cardboard boxes with recyclable packing tape.

Delivery

Postage is currently 2nd class Royal Mail and please allow 5-10 days for delivery as all of our treats are handmade to order. Please allow up to 15 days delivery for our resin products as they are all custom made to order.

Legalities

All of our products have been through legally required composition testing by a local UKAS accredited laboratory to ensure they are safe and healthy for your pets. We are also a trading standards registered company. We follow a very strict hygiene regime and Covid regulations are followed.
